THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku
THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku
THE KNOT is Ichigo’s boutique hotel brand, positioned outside the conventional categories of stay-only and luxury hotels. THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku opened in August 2018 as the second hotel under the brand, following THE KNOT YOKOHAMA. Ichigo acquired the 39-year-old Shinjuku New City Hotel in 2016 and transformed it into THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku through its Sustainable Real Estate Value-Add approach, maximizing the potential of the property and its location.
While retaining the building’s existing structural frame, Ichigo carried out seismic reinforcement, upgraded the building systems, and renovated the entire hotel. The project went beyond simply renewing the interiors, addressing issues inherent in the existing building, including noise, odors, connectivity, thermal comfort, and water pressure. These improvements extended the life of the hotel while also enhancing its energy efficiency.
